| About us and our rescue center Posh Puppies Rescue & Adoption Center is a 501(C) -3 non-profit NO-KILL animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of the forgotten puppies and dogs of Missouri's commercial kennel industry. Nearly all of the animals in our care come from breeder liquidations and commercial kennels. What this means is that most of the adult dogs we rescue were formerly breeder dogs who had given their entire lives to produce litter upon litter of puppies and most of the puppies we rescue are the babies who were rejected by the pet shop industry~either because they were too big for their breed standard, they're the wrong color, their coats were too curly or too straight, they have an overbite or underbite, an extra toe or for any number of reasons which have absolutely no bearing on their ability to be a wonderful, much-loved member of the family. These are the babies who've fallen through the cracks~nearly always destroyed because they are no longer of any "value" to anyone~until now. Because of our organization's diligent efforts, these precious angels now have the chance to live their lives~this is a chance they never would have been given otherwise. All of the animals in our rescue receive the very best in veterinary care~the adults are all spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, vaccinated, dewormed and nearly all have a complete dental cleaning and polishing done, as well. Due to the lack of proper dental care during their former lives, most end up having some extractions done, too, at this time. All of our puppies are also spayed/neutered, vaccinated and dewormed prior to adoption, as well. Without the incredible compassion and undying dedication of the wonderful veterinarians who treat our animals, we would never be able to carry out our mission of saving as many of these precious angels as we possibly can. |
